Abstract:

They are 524 abandoned uranium mines on the Navajo Nation from the Cold War. Many families had relatives that were part of the past uranium mining activities that long passed on. Nowadays, only one uranium mine was remediated by the United States Environmental Agency Region 9. The pathway of exposure persists to this day to the public that resides near the past mining activities.
