Director of the High Meadows Environmental Institute (HMEI) and Professor of Geosciences and the High Meadows Environmental Institute Gabriel Vecchi has been selected as a 2024 American Meteorological Society (AMS) Fellow. The AMS recognizes outstanding leaders in the weather, water, and climate communities at their annual meetings. The society’s mission is to advance atmospheric and related sciences, technologies, applications, and services by supporting climate science experts and organizations. This year’s theme is “Living in a Changing Environment” where they intend to address many of the climate challenges facing the planet today and define the steps necessary to minimize the impacts. As a recipient, Professor Vecchi will be honored at the 104th AMS Annual Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland. Join the Department of Geosciences in congratulating Prof. Vecchi on this prestigious and well-deserved honor.
