RSVP and Accommodation Details for Bonini Cabin Dedication August 15th 5PM at YBRA Field Camp

UPDATE: YBRA and the Bonini Family are pleased to announce details of the William E. “Bill” Bonini ’48 *49 (faculty 1952-1996) cabin dedication ceremony at the YBRA field camp in Red Lodge, MT at 5PM Thursday August 15, 2019.  A ribbon-cutting will be followed by a celebratory reception and dinner at the historic Fanshawe Lodge at Camp. All of the Bonini “kids” (Jack, Nancy, Jamie and Jennifer) will be there, and all are invited to attend!

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all those people that have generously donated to make the Bonini Faculty Cabin a reality. We hope many of you can attend to celebrate with us at the camp that we all love so much!

The dedication will precede the Annual YBRA Alumni Symposium on Saturday August 17th at the camp. You can RSVP to the dedication and/or the symposium via the link below where you will also find accommodation & meal options at the YBRA Camp Thursday through Saturday nights. Here is a summary of the plans for those that can and wish to join us for the celebration weekend in Red Lodge. Any questions, please send an email to:

  • Thursday August 15th 5PM – Bonini Cabin dedication followed by celebration reception and dinner at historic Fanshawe Lodge RSVP: EVENTS & CAMP LODGING/MEALS
  • Friday August 16th – Free day for attendees to enjoy Red Lodge, hike, venture to the Beartooth Pass or explore the area. There will be a short lecture after breakfast and if there is enough interest to fill a few cars, we may do an impromptu informal geo-focused luncheon excursion! If you wish to pursue this option when you RSVP, let us know by indicating so in the checkout screen “Other Information” or sending an email to:
  • Saturday August 17th, 1PM – 5PM - Annual YBRA Alumni Symposium focusing on Yellowstone with University of Utah Professor Emeritus Robert B. “Bob” Smith as keynote speaker – a well-known expert on the geology and geophysics of  Yellowstone. The symposium will be followed by a reception with food and beverages in the lodge. RSVP: EVENTS & CAMP LODGING/MEALS

The Bonini Family is also pleased to announce the Restore YBRA Fund fundraising challenge to support the upkeep of student and faculty cabins at camp. The Family will match dollar-for-dollar the first $10,000 in donations from now through December 31, 2019.  Funds raised will be used for continued efforts at floor refinishing, installing fire suppression features and other cabin improvements to enhance the camp experience for students and faculty.  So please consider a tax deductible gift, even if you can’t come to the reception!
