W. Jason Morgan elected to the American Academy of Arts and Science

Geosciences Professor Emeritus W. Jason Morgan has been named a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Science, along with eight other Princeton faculty members (related story on Princeton News). Morgan joins the ranks of one of the nation’s most prestigious honorary societies and a leading center for independent policy research.

On January, 2003,  W. Jason Morgan retired from 44 years at Princeton University, 37 years which were spent at Guyot Hall. During his tenure in the department, Morgan taught a wide range of courses: History of Ocean Basins, Introduction to Geophysics, Structural Geology, Earthquakes, Volcanoes and other Hazards, as well as the Freshman Seminar at Mammoth, CA, and a number of other research seminars.
