Title: Associate Professor of Earth & Environmental Science
Position: Visiting Associate Professor
Research Summary: My research focuses on the geological archives of extreme coastal events (storms, tsunamis) and the impact of biota (vertebrates and megainvertebrates) on sediments and landforms. The field-based approach integrates high-resolution geophysics (georadar), quantitative mineralogical methods, and multi-dating techniques. I began studying marine geology in Ukraine in 1989 and received a Ph.D from Boston University (2001), followed by post-doctoral and scientific staff positions at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
