Title: Postdoctoral Research Associate
Group: The Niespolo Laboratory
Area(s): Geology
Research Summary: I possess experience in environmental geochemistry and U-series geochronology to comprehend paleoclimate dynamics over a geological timescale. My primary research focus is utilizing trace elements, especially rare earth elements (REEs), as proxies recorded in fossil coral in combination with coral reefs paleoecological assemblages to elucidate the extent to which climate patterns shape environments like coral reefs. Additionally, I conduct research on bacterially-formed carbonates, such as marine microbialites, to reconstruct paleo-water quality conditions throughout the Quaternary.
