Title: Postdoctoral Research Associate, GEO/HMEI
Position: Research Staff
Group: The Zhang Research Laboratory
Area(s): Geochemistry
Research Summary: Emma is a research specialist that focuses on the soil biogeochemistry of atmospheric H2. The project aims to integrate measurements of H2 consumption rates from various soil types into continuously evolving models characterizing soil H2 uptake.
Before joining the Zhang lab at Princeton, she completed her Ph.D. in marine science at the University of California, Santa Barbara. There, she studied methane biogeochemistry in the deep water column of dynamic marine environments using radioactive labeled tracers. Additionally, she investigated mechanistic underpinnings of stable carbon isotope fractionations during methylotrophic methanogenesis by marine archaea.
