Title: Harry H. Hess Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Group: The Lai Research Group
Area(s): Climate Science, Geophysics
Research Summary: Riley Culberg holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Geospatial Information Science from the United States Military Academy. His research focuses on understanding the near-surface hydrology and internal structure of ice sheets and icy planetary bodies using ice-penetrating radar. He is particularly interested in developing and applying quantitative geophysical imaging methods to study the role that englacial water systems play in modulating sea-level contributions from the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets.
Keywords: ice sheets, radar imaging, subsurface hydrology
