Area(s): Geochemistry
Research Summary: Sarah Ward received a bachelor's degree in geology from Carleton College in 2019. Her work encompasses independent research projects and sample processing. In the Maloof lab, she employs carbon isotope mass spectrometry to retrieve climate data from sedimentary deposits. She also enjoys finding zircons for dating in the Schoene TIMS lab, performing the extensive mineral separation process on samples from Bolivia, Italy, and the Deccan Traps. When outside of the lab, Sarah's working on building a convolutional neural network to characterize meteorite textures.
