Research Summary:  My research interests focus on water-rock interactions particularly in understanding silicate weathering process in large igneous provinces (continental flood basalts) and its role in the sequestration of atmospheric CO2, hence its modulation to Earth’s climate. My tools are elemental ratios, radiogenic (Sr) and stable isotope systematics (Li, Mg and Ca). Other focus is tracing the sources of organo-metals/organo-metalloids in a karst watershed and role of microbes in mobilizations of such metals in environments. Currently, I’m working on gases extracted from ice cores, to understand paleoclimatic conditions and its impacts on climate applying stable isotope systematics.
